Ah ha, now I understand the importance of digital money

The Badger was taking a break from den-fixing this morning when he happened on a ted.com video.  He's seen some great ones so those slippery little twigs that have kept breaking in my claws can wait.

Neha's talk is really worth watching.  The Badger has never heard digital money described so convincingly before.  It seems like such a natural thing, like soft soil.  There's no technical jargon with Neha, just the best, simplest explanations the Badger has heard.  Now he gets why digital money is not going away and is now willing to accept it will likely supplant fiat currencies, like US Dollars.  But let's not upset those mega-institutions that constantly bring us friction in our commerce and financial management.  They have a right to their own den-building haven't they?

Oh, and talking about commerce, do you know how many Chinese buy something on their mobile phone every day? About 500 million!  That's about the population of the USA, Germany and the UK combined, buying something on their mobile phone.  Every Day!!   That's a huge market!  I wonder if any of them would like to buy some broken little twigs?

Hurray for Privacy: ZEC, ZEC, ZEC!

The animals at zcash have completed their new dam where they'll hunt for the latest catch, ZEC:  It's going to be a really productive dam!

These animals have figured that everybody knows their business - what they've caught, what they've swapped - it just isn't right;  It's not right for them, and not right for anyone else.  So their new dam has some clever privacy, but otherwise, it's just like the best darn dam ever built, that's used for catching BTC.  With BTC, it seems to be that everybody knows everyone else's business for all time, and you know how snoopy the world is becoming.  zcash have borrowed that dam's plans and added some clever construction ideas, and now it's open to visitors.  They're expecting lots of them, and they're expecting to catch lots of ZEC, which you'll be able to exchange with other's, even when blindfolded!

There's so much excitement over this new nourishment (ZEC), particularly with all the privacy and all, that some smart cats have opened an advanced - very advanced - booking service where you can trade futures of this catch, and the price is going through the roof.  ZEC must be darn good!

Anyway, they're a nice cooperative bunch, so say hello if your paths cross: they're not only good dam builders, they're helping everyone get along better with all this added privacy.  You'll often hear them saying something like, "We hope this dam can do for cooperation what the Badger's Trading Collective (BTC) did for communication two generations ago", or something like that.

Anyway, got to get along, I've got this problem to solve:  I need to know if any two Badgers are likely  to have to share the birthday cake at our daily get-togethers.   There must be any easy way to figure this out.

Introducing the Badger

Hi, I'm the Blockchain Badger.  How do you do?  Ever since I figured bitcoins where neither bits nor coins but really important nonetheless, I've been scurrying around these blockchain fields figuring things out, or, at least, trying to.   It's a funny place and changing all the time, so I thought I'd share with you some of the folk and the things I come across.  Perhaps we can help each other?
